Moriano’s is indeed a great find in Midtown…and would be worth driving for if not.
We took the chance on ordering takeout one night after a crazy day of work. I didn’t expect much from a small neighborhood place, nor from an Italian restaurant in general. (I’m of Sicilian descent, and don’t usually enjoy Italian food in restaurants. However, I was completely blown away by what we found waiting for us in the to-go containers. The pizza is the best in the area! Thin and perfectly cooked with toppings that taste truly Italian versus mass-market. The spinach salad with pears and Gorgonzola was fresh and big enough for two. Oh, order dessert. It’s worth it.
The dining room is small and friendly, with a large screen projection on one wall. I haven’t dined in yet, but will soon.
